This the main road heading into the center of the settlement. Going ahead straight ahead takes you on a gravel and dirt road to Okajandja which is 70 kilometers(?) from Kalkfeld just like Otjiwarango and Omaruru. Going to the right- which is the way we are going is to the center of the settlement.
Ahead on the left is the clinic. We are walking parallel to the rail road tracks.
On the left is the road going along the clinic. It is the "back road" of the settlement- running along the back of the houses on the main road. The buildings you can see in the distance are a closed shop, meeting room used very occasionally, the closed bed and breakfast, a house, and the old bank building converted to the sewing project.
Looking back to the clinic and to the right of it are small residences for the two nurses assigned here- one male and one female and both single without children.
This is looking to the mountain at the end of the road we are walking on. I took the picture because of the clouds and the colors of the sky and ground- it has been rare to have clouds while I have been here but we are entering the rainy season of summer and Namibia needs water so bad, hopefully there will be lots of rain.
