Progress on the Roof Repair and a Visitor

Repairing the roof means going up through the ceiling.  Here is Andrew helping Heino replace and shore up the planking and boards.  The beams the corrugated metal roof is attached to were damaged by the rain after the wind lifted the roof off the building (and thankfully set it back down in the same place).

You can see the gap between the roof and the top cross piece which happened when the wind lifted the roof.  This is where the water came in and the roof planks and boards are damaged.

Repair on the portion of the roof over the Sunday school has been completed.  You can see the fabric and sealant make it look like the roof has racing stripes.

As we stood and talked about the project and the materials needed...

There was a visitor to the church.  Now I believe in an extravagant welcome.  The dogs come on Sunday and if they are quiet, and don't pee on anything, they can stay.  But this guy puts out a stink to defend himself.  I invited this guy out with a broom.

He came back and I had put the broom away.  So I had to invite him out with quick kick- a distinctive, hard beetle sounding shell.  He came back a third time, fast and very determined to get inside where it was shady and cool.  (All the critters move very fast here!)

I confess, I shut the door.

  2. As part of your on going house painting maintenance schedule, your roof is the easiest to overlook...until that leak appears over the bed and wakes you up on a stormy night.modified bitumen

  3. I worked so hard at trying to figure out where and how the water was seeping into the nesting boxes and surrounding walls. roof contractors

  4. It’s nice to see it getting back to its former glory, after being damaged by the rain. It seems there’s still a lot of work that needed to be done back then. I hope everything went well after the repair. This is a sacred place for your community, and nobody would want risk the safety of people who are coming here to worship. Hope you're having a great day!
