Namibia Day 6

Sunday April 21
Nora, a Deacon from the church drove me from Otjiwarango to Kalkveld.  Here we are heading in to town from the North.  On the right is an old factory building.  On the left is the Roadhouse which is a bar and small shop for necessities.

I spent the day with Gerhardt and his family.  Here he is with his youngest grandson Emmanuel.

This is Joshua (Josey) Gerhardt's 6 year old grandson who lives with him.  At first he was very shy.

But that only lasted about 2 minutes.  He has such a great smile!
It runs in the family.
The cousins were washing shoes and socks.  I asked them if they were making "shoe soup" for dinner and that became our running joke for the week!

A little disagreement among the chefs- who gets to hold the brush?

Negotiations continue...

A fuller view of the "kitchen."

Ah, now that the shirt has come off we can really get into it!

Now Uncle Richard gets in the picture to distract Emmanuel with his phone and music.

After pulling out all the stops and dancing, Emmanuel pulled out a pillow.

But not for long because a fashion show soon was underway.

Colored clothes pins on the ears- It is painful to be beautiful!

Then a game of peek-a-boo ensued with Oupa.

Day 1 in Kalkfeld included a braai (BBQ) and family time and I was tired!
