Today I headed back to Johannesburg and I was able to take many more pictures of the scenery along the way so you can see the rolling green hills I was talking about earlier.
A lake in the middle.
Back to desert trees.
And flat.
Except this big formation which makes me very curious about the geological history.
Leon picked me up at the bus station and I had dinner with him and his wife Nolene and the new pastor in town.
Leon and Nolene's daughter Nicole (right) and her cousin Lena (Madelena) (on the left).
As a "Missionary" the purpose of mission in our time is connecting people and creating loving relationships, for that is the beginning of the Beloved Community, and that is where we truly experience God.

Trip to Durban Day 7
May 18, 2013 Sunday
Today was a good day from church to beach!
I went to hear Rev. Dr. Scott Couper as he was guest preacher at Congregational church of Queensborough (thats the way it is pronounced but not spelled).
The worship song leading group is on the right and did a nice job. The children sat in the front rows and were very good.
Birthday celebrations.
The children go off to sunday school.
Rev. Scott preaches on Pentecost and the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Church sign.
Then we headed off to the beach in Durban and first went out to the end of the pier for the view and refreshment.
A Dad and his kids joking around, Scott, Maddie and Micah.
A family hug.
Father and son.
The pier long view.
Listening to the steel drums. This group has a connection to the Inanda Seminary (teaching?) and the Inanda Seminary steel drums took first and second in the competition place last week!
Beautiful, clean beaches with soft sand. NO litter!!
Micah is first to take the plunge.
I wasn't brave enough to put on a swim suit in public but I did get my feet in and the Indian Ocean is warm!
Brother and sister get along very well.
Scott and Micah went to see the reptiles and spiders, while Maddie and Susan and I took on the great shark.
Then Micah and Maddie paddled away.
A great and fun day on the beach with a very nice family. Thank you Scott, Susan, Micah and Maddie for your hospitality and including me in the family!

Scott and Maddie join Micah to go body surfing.

We walked through the shopping area and had ice cream. I thought the lizard hand rail very clever. It was right near the "dangerous" reptile exhibit.
