One Last Sunday of Worship and Fellowship

I gave Geraldo (9) the camera today and let him go. What a star he is at everything and he did a great job on the pictures for his first opportunity as official photographer.  What a joy to me and everyone.
This is my last worship service with the people of Kalkfeld and Otjiwarango and we will celebrate!  We will confirm a new member!  We will have communion together!  We will do a ritual of leave taking and we will enjoy each other's company.

I welcome everyone and tell them about my leaving (they already know but it is part of the  ritual of leave taking which is a Covenantal act before God.)

Every one likes to sit on the one side of the church.  Good thing it is not a boat or we would tip over!

We sing and rejoice!

We past the Peace which represents as Jesus taught, being reconciled with our brothers and sisters, and all the world before we worship.

In the suit is the Namibia Synod Secretary Jimmy Heyman, here from Windhoek.  In the black robe in the middle is the incoming President of the UCCSA Rev. Philip Strydom who is Pastor of the church in Swakopmund, Namibia.  On the right in the white robe is Rev. J Blankenbergh, Moderator of the Synod and Pastor in Walvis Bay, Namibia.   They are representing the Synod leadership and their presence is appreciated by all.

We begin with prayer to center ourselves for worship.  In foreground is Venessa who will be confirmed today!

The church continues to fill up as more people arrive!  Om Jan is in the white shirt and tie. Venessa is his granddaughter and he is especially proud of her today!
