Trip to Botswana Day 11 Part 1

March 29 Friday
This was a wonderful long day observing Good Friday.  We started at the church with a reading of the 10 last words of Jesus by the Deacons.

Rev. Muriel sang a beautiful duet with one of the women.

And Muriel and I gave the benediction.

Here I am in the shirt the women of Trinity Congregational Church gave me as a thank you for the retreat on the Holy Spirit.  And appreciating the testimony given by one of the women about her experience of Good Friday.

Then we went for lunch with this wonderful woman (grandma) and her beautiful grand daughter who I fell in love with!

Rev. Muriel in a rare moment of relaxation while visiting.

The food was fresh and beautifully prepared- lots of colors!  And it was perfect for a very hot day.

This is a favorite of mine- a trifle made with fruit, jello, crumbled white cake and vanilla custard.

Then we went with a team of Deacons to visit some of the shut ins.  On the way saw a farmer with his donkeys hauling water.  There is a drought in Botswana and there was very little water for washing and showering.
