And MORE GLITTER!!

Our next Sunday school project was making Chrismons- Christian symbols made to use as ornaments for the Christmas tree.  Geraldo and Jaydine and I, along with Vanessa, her friend and cousins at one point, all got in on this project that occupied us for hours every day. We made about 110 of them- 10 sets of 11 symbols so we could decorate the sanctuary and give each family a set after Christmas.

First I looked on a website and drew the symbols on white paper and made many copies of them.  We cut them out and pasted them on cardboard (cereal boxes and the like).  Then we colored them and cut them out and then came the glitter!!

Here's the coloring part.

Here's the glittering part.  Jaydine and Geraldo could tell you what each symbol was and what it meant in English and Afrikaans and delighted in telling the congregation.

Here is a close up.  I poked holes in them and we used some recycled copper wire as hangers.

But the favorite part for Geraldo and Jaydine was decorating themselves.

It began with, but over the days did not end with the hands!!
